I Peed My Pants. But Just A Little.
I was both excited and more than just a little skeptical, but now I'm just excited. Makes me wish I knew who the hell has my VHS copy of the 1933 original. If you have one of the ones that roars when you push on Kong's chest and don't know where it came from let me know. I haven't seen mine for a good many years and I can't remember who borrowed it.

Because of my skepticism, I was actually surprised. Maybe it was the Jack Black role. Of course, maybe that's why I feel the way I do about Mr. Knoxville in the Dukes of Hazzard....
Dude...That looks freakin amazing! I loved that movie growing up.
By the way Ted, I think I have your copy of King Kong. I think I've had it since the Ward house, I'm not sure. I just know I didn't buy it.
When is the original coming out on dvd?
Wow that looks awesome! A friend of mine went to Weta when he was in New Zealand and saw them working on the special effects. He was supposed to meet Jackson, but he was busy/tired, so they decided to not disturb him.
Most of the Weta Digital crew will be at the San Diego Comic-Con and afterward at the annual party - so its a fun time to meet famous geeks.
Right now the word is that the original is to be out in time for Christmas. They are working on the special features and from what I have read on the internet (which always is true) they are trying to track down one of the copies which have the scene where the guys who fall off the log and into the ravine are attacked by spider-crab things. Makes me think that short flash in the preview of Jack Black fighting off a swarm of giant bugs might be the new version of that scene. It was supposedly only released on less than ten early reels and then omitted later for no reason. I think it has been damn long enough that we've had to wait for this thing to hit DVD. But I guess if you want King Kong on DVD you can always pick up the 1976 steamer or the classic King Kong Lives (remember them bashing it in The Big Hit?). Thanks for that Hollywood.
